Rotovia Deventer proud sponsor of Team Alpe du Flip 1
Alpe d’HuZes is a unique sporting event that raises as much money as possible for cancer research and for improving the quality of life of people with cancer.
On the first Thursday of June, 5,000 participants climb Alpe d’Huez, a mountain in the French Alps, by bike, running or walking. The road to the summit has 21 turns and is 14.5 kilometres long. The altitude difference between start and finish is 1,100 metres with an average gradient of 7.9%.

Connie, Rotovia Deventer is going to sponsor this, what a great idea, how did you come up with this?
Connie: Of course I knew that my brother and his team were going to participate in this. And I think it’s a particularly important cause. Sponsors are indispensable and how nice it would be if Rotovia, could contribute to this. It makes me proud that my brother and his team are taking on this huge challenge and that the company where I work can contribute. So that the fight against this disease can continue!
Eric, you are part of team Alpe du Flip 1, who are you?
Eric: We are a team of volunteers who organise activities together to raise as much money as possible for cancer research. As a team, we all go up the Alpe d’Huez as often as possible.
Eric, what is your goal for the Alpe d’HuZes?
Eric: In 2021, my father lost his battle against cancer. Ineke, my wife beat breast cancer in that same year and is proof that research and prompt treatment are vital. I am participating in Alpe d’HuZes because I believe that together we can work towards a world where you no longer die from cancer. That is why I would like to raise as much money as possible for cancer research.
Bjorn, why do you think it’s important to support on behalf of Rotovia Deventer?
Bjorn: Entrepreneurship is more than just making money. I think it’s important to also show social and societal responsibility. One way we do this is by contributing to local initiatives and supporting good causes. Alpe d’Huzes is a great initiative and I did not have to think about it for long when Connie asked if we would sponsor her brother for his participation. We wish Eric and his Team Alpe du Flip 1 a lot of success and we are proud to be able to contribute to the fight against this terrible disease.
