Low weight hand wash tanks for sprayers
Agricultural sprayers are standardly equipped with a hand wash tank. This contains clean water so that the operator can wash his hands after coming into contact with crop protection products. These tanks often have a capacity of around 20 litres. Sometimes they are equipped with an integrated rotational moulded handle so that the tank can be carried to a water source for refilling. In this case, it is convenient that the tank itself is as lightweight as possible, which is most certainly the case with rotomoulded polyethylene hand wash tanks. In general, our products are easy and safe to handle in the agricultural sprayer assembly process, due to their relatively low weight and rounded shapes.
Integration of functionalities
Multiple functions can be integrated in rotational moulding designs. For example, the following parts can be seamlessly co-moulded in one go without further post-processing or assembly operations:
- A threaded opening on which a screw cap can be mounted
- A solid rounded and ergonomic handle
- A threaded metal insert into which a drain valve can be fitted
Hand wash tanks with a long service life
Polyethylene for rotational moulding is colored throughout and has excellent UV resistance, color fastness, weather resistance and impact resistance. This means the products last a long time and keep looking good, even when exposed to sunlight. Therefore, many rotational moulding applications can be found on agricultural machinery. These machines have to work in extreme weather conditions for many years.
Compared to painted steel parts, which require regular maintenance to avoid rusting, rotomoulded products are practically maintenance-free. And, given the efficient production technique where many functions can be integrated, it is a cost-effective solution. On top of that, polyethylene is also extremely recyclable. Rotovia turns the recycled material from old rotomoulded products back into sustainable high-quality new products, such as hand wash tanks for sprayers.
