Rotovia on World Recycling Day - Circular rotomoulding
March 18 marks World Recycling Day – a day that reminds us of the importance of protecting our planet and promoting a circular economy. At Rotovia, we celebrate this commitment every day, continuously advancing our sustainability efforts. Our goal is to make our products fully circular – currently, 5% of the materials we use come from recycled sources, and by 2028, we aim to increase this share to 20%. Additionally, we have introduced a product take-back service, with the goal of reclaiming 30% of our products for reuse or secondary recycling. These initiatives contribute to reducing plastic waste and conserving valuable natural resources.
Closing the loop, opening the future
At Rotovia, we believe that sustainable development depends on closing the product life cycle. As part of our strategy, by 2028, 30% of our products will be returned for reuse or secondary recycling. Already, 5% of our products contain recycled materials, exceeding our initial goals. In 2024, we collected 250 tonnes of material for reuse, significantly raising the bar for responsible business practices. This represents more than double the amount recovered in 2023 when we collected 100 tonnes. To achieve our objectives, we are expanding subscription-based models and investing in recycling technologies. Each step brings us closer to a future where plastic is continuously reused rather than discarded.

Advanced recycling strategies at Rotovia
We are improving our recycling processes by implementing efficient material recovery systems that enhance the reintegration of post-industrial and post-consumer recycled materials into production. Our key goal is to optimize the collection and processing of returned products to increase their reuse and reduce material losses. By 2028, we aim to incorporate 20% recycled content into our products, sourced from both post-industrial and post-consumer materials. To achieve this, we are optimizing our recycling processes, ensuring that recovered materials meet the necessary quality standards for reuse in new production cycles.
To achieve greater recycling efficiency, we are focusing on refining separation and purification processes for plastics. These efforts allow for more effective utilization of recycled materials without compromising the quality of the final products. These improvements align with our goal of limiting the use of virgin raw materials within the next 3-5 years. Thanks to technological innovations, we are reducing the consumption of virgin raw materials and supporting the transition to a circular economy. These efforts directly support our circular economy initiatives and long-term sustainability goals.
Ambitious goals for a greener future
Rotovia is committed to achieving a significant milestone by incorporating 20% recycled content in its products by 2028. Already, we can manufacture 15% of our product range from recycled materials. Our strategy also includes reducing CO₂ emissions by modernizing rotational moulding ovens – we plan to convert 60 ovens to carbon-free operation by 2028. Through these initiatives, we are transforming our industry by promoting sustainable solutions at every stage of production.
