Revolution in sustainable mobility - Rotovia & Softcar unite
At the Motor Show 2024 in Paris, held on 14-15 October, presented the Softcar, a pioneering all-electric urban vehicle that is a symbol of modern sustainable mobility. Manufactured using rotomoulding technology, the Softcar combines lightness, durability and ecology, opening a new chapter in sustainable urban mobility.
Innovation, lightness and ecology in one car
The innovative Softcar, unveiled at this year’s Motor Show 2024 in Paris, is not just another electric vehicle, but also a symbol of a modern approach to sustainable mobility. Thanks to Rotovia’s advanced rotational moulding technology, the Softcar’s key components – the doors and hood – have been made to be lightweight, strong and exceptionally efficient.
This innovative design reflects Rotovia’s values: share, care and can do. Our company is not only committed to providing high-quality solutions but also actively supports environmentally friendly activities, guided by the principles of sharing knowledge, caring for the environment and a ‘can do’ approach in the face of major technical challenges.

The ecological answer to the needs of modern cities
The SoftCar is a response to the needs of today’s cities, which are increasingly striving to reduce emissions and promote electric, environmentally friendly transport solutions. This all-electric vehicle has been designed with the urban lifestyle in mind, combining a compact size with an ultra-modern design.
As part of our collaboration with SoftCar, we took on an ambitious challenge: to create the world’s cleanest car, using an innovative rotomoulded body. This unique process, which replaces steel with a one-piece shell, provides exceptional mechanical performance while meeting the highest aesthetic standards. The rotomoulded parts were manufactured in Rotovia France. Thanks to the use of rotomoulding technology, the Softcar vehicle not only reduces its carbon footprint but also features exceptional aerodynamics and durability that enhance its performance.
Rotomoulding - the key to lightweight and durable components
Why rotomoulding? Rotomoulding technology, used by Rotovia, enables the production of lightweight parts, ideal for electric vehicles where weight has a direct impact on range. Softcar components made using this technology are not only resistant to damage but also lighter than traditional components, significantly improving the energy efficiency of the vehicle. The process also allows for precise design reproduction and flexibility in the use of materials, which minimises waste and is a step towards sustainability. Rotomoulding, at the heart of Rotovia’s business, is key to producing cars of the future that care for the environment and respond to the challenges of the modern market.

Collaboration at the cutting edge of technology
Jean-Luc Thuliez and François Vuile, co-directors general of Softcar, were present at the Motor Show to give a live demonstration of this ground-breaking vehicle and share their experiences of working with Rotovia France. Dadi Valdimarsson, CEO of Rotovia, also attended the event, emphasising the importance of this groundbreaking collaboration.
During the fair, we produced an exclusive video in which Boukhalfa Guirous, CEO of Rotovia France and Jean-Luc Thuliez, CEO of SoftCar, gave a behind-the-scenes look at the project and discussed how together they undertook the ambitious task of creating the world’s cleanest car. Thanks to their determination and the use of advanced technologies, Softcar has become a symbol of modern, sustainable mobility.
Softcar is more than just a car – it is a vision of the future where innovation and ecology go hand in hand and Rotovia France, through its expertise in rotomoulding technology, is a key partner on the way to realising it.
