Rotovia at the 13th World Ocean Summit in Montreal

Rotovia took part in the 13th World Ocean Summit, held on March 4-5 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where industry leaders, researchers and sustainability experts gathered to discuss practical solutions for improving ocean health. During the event, Brian Gooding represented Rotovia in a panel discussion focused on strategies to reduce waste and strengthen circularity in global industries.

A global discussion on circularity and ocean health

Rotovia was proud to be part of the conversation at the 13th World Ocean Summit in Montreal, where Brian Gooding, VP of Material Handling for America & Managing Director for Saeplast Americas Inc., joined the panel “Compelling ‘Reuse and Reduce’ Strategies for Ocean Health”.

Moderated by Charles Goddard, Editorial Director of Economist Impact, the panel brought together leaders from industry, research, and sustainability to discuss an important question: how do we make circularity practical, scalable, and effective?

Rotovia’s approach to circularity

At Rotovia, we believe circularity must go beyond ambition. It has to be built into how we operate, design, and innovate.

During the discussion, Brian shared Rotovia’s all-inclusive approach – from decarbonizing our operations to making products stronger and lighter through product design and raw material innovation. He also highlighted how we began our recycling efforts two years ago and are using post-consumer recycled materials to help create a more circular process that turns old products into new ones.

Learning from different perspectives

It was also encouraging to hear fellow panelists share how their organizations are advancing reuse and recovery in different ways. One point came through clearly: circularity can work – and in many cases, it already is.

Thank you to the organizers, moderator, and fellow panelists for an engaging and important discussion on advancing ocean health through practical reuse and reduction strategies.
