Rotomoulded flood barriers, the process
When Rotovia creates rotomoulded flood barriers we always start by listening to your ideas. How and where will you be using the plastic flood barriers and what are the minimum requirements? Once we’ve come to a design and we’ve produced the needed mould(s), the 6-step rotomoulding process starts:
- We prepare the materials, often polyethylene, by reducing the granules in size with a micro-pelletizer.
- The material is inserted in the mould in the exact weight of the product.
- The mould is heated and rotated around two axes, causing the material to melt and evenly adhere to the walls.
- Time to cool the heated mould down, causing the material to solidify.
- The product is removed from the mould.
- The final product is assembled, tested, inspected, and packed.

At Rotovia, we offer a comprehensive 3D scanning service, from physical scanning to post-processing. Our scanning service accurately measures rotomoulded products in 3D, providing extremely accurate measurement data.
