Why did we decide to implement ISO 50001 and what were the objectives?

Another objective was to identify the energy savings potential for identified, potential but not yet approved MPWEs (Places of Potential High Energy Savings). The introduction of the standard has also enabled us to realise these savings if MPWEs are approved, which is an important step towards reducing energy consumption.
The ISO 50001 certification was also intended to show that Rotovia Miedzyrzecz cares not only about its financial interests but also about the environment in which it operates. We wanted to emphasise that our company is energy-conscious and committed to sustainable development.
Steps in the implementation of the ISO 50001 standard
The implementation of the ISO 50001 standard in our company took place in several key stages, which were carefully planned and executed by our implementation team. The first step was a zero audit, which allowed us to assess the initial state of energy management at the plant. We then set up an energy management (EMS) team, which consisted of experienced employees from our company. The team received specialised training to prepare them for the successful implementation of the new system.
The next step was an energy review, which provided us with detailed information on the energy consumption of various production processes. Based on this, we aligned our system documentation with the requirements of ISO 50001. We also conducted an internal audit to ensure that all procedures complied with the new standards. The whole process culminated in certification by TUV Rheinland, with the support of consultants from ENMS.
