Efficient airflow and sustainable solutions for Dieteg cabins
In collaboration with Dieteg, Rotovia developed an innovative air duct solution for vehicle cabins in the construction and agricultural sectors. The application in a cabin for Schäffer vehicles perfectly illustrates how rotationally moulded parts contribute to efficiency, sustainability, and easy assembly.
Smart collaboration for powerful vehicles
For over 75 years, the name Dieteg has stood for premium-quality cabins for industrial vehicles, forklifts, agricultural machines, and municipal vehicles. As a specialist in both the OEM and retrofit markets, Dieteg has secured a strong market position and is widely recognized as a reliable partner, both in Germany and internationally, particularly when it comes to delivering complete system solutions. In their cooperation with Schäffer, a manufacturer of compact wheel loaders and multifunctional vehicles, Dieteg identified the need for a more advanced air distribution system within the operator cabin. The existing design relied on standard air hoses and connectors, which created airflow resistance and presented assembly challenges. That’s when Rotovia stepped in with a customized rotational moulding solution, transforming the way air moves through the cabin while streamlining the installation process.
Rotational moulding as a gamechanger in cabin design
The new air ducts delivered by Rotovia were produced using rotational moulding and fit seamlessly into the compact design of the Schäffer cabin. Thanks to their aerodynamic shape and the absence of sharp bends or seams, airflow resistance is significantly reduced. This results in better air circulation inside the cabin and improved comfort for the operator. In addition, the ducts are fully modular and require fewer components and fixings than the traditional design with hoses and splitters. This makes assembly not only faster but also more reliable. Dieteg now benefits from reduced installation time and a lower risk of leakage or long-term failure.
Sustainable, cost-efficient, and future-ready
An additional advantage of the new design is the use of internally recycled material. With this approach, Rotovia takes an important step towards circular production, using leftover material from previous production runs to create new parts. This not only lowers the environmental footprint but also provides a cost benefit that Dieteg can pass on directly to their customers. The choice for rotational moulding also aligns with future developments in the industry, where lightweight, sustainable, and easy-to-assemble components are becoming increasingly important.
